July 2002
PECS was responsible for the structural and foundation projects and for some specialties for the metallic covering of Mercado da Graça located in Ponta Delgada.
In addition to the development of the projects, he was also responsible for their coordination and for monitoring the respective administrative licenses.
It is a building designed to function as a sales and storage area for goods.
Description
Taking into account the type of terrain existing at the site, the building's foundations were made directly using shoes.
The overall structure of the building is made up of a mesh of pillars (HEB 220 profiles) that supports the metal roof.
The building's roof consists of metal profiles IPE 220, HEB160, HEB140 and HEB 220, being the madres, IPE120 and IPE 140. These profiles will support in HEB220 profiles, by means of plates previously placed on the columns and occasionally in the existing concrete structure -armed. HEB 220 Profiles that function as pillars unload mostly on the slab that has a thickness equal to 0.5 m, and occasionally have a direct foundation. It should be noted that the profiles that unload on the slab are aligned with the pillars of the lower floor. This cover will support a “Haironville” type plate.
